What this portal collects
Without Handig Plus, nothing that identifies you personally: no account, no form, no newsletter. The search works in your browser: what you type is not sent. Like any web server, our hosting keeps short technical logs (such as the IP address and the page requested) to keep the site safe and working.
What each app sends
Each app says beforehand where the work happens. In short:
- Plooi (PDF): Almost everything happens in your browser. Where a tool really needs a server, its page says so beforehand.
- Snipsel (Photos): Everything happens in your browser. To cut out a background, your browser loads a larger helper file once.
- Spoel (Audio and video): Everything happens in your browser, even with large files. Nothing is uploaded.
- Rekenblad (Text and data): Everything happens in your browser. Nothing is sent.
- Snoei (Web tools): Browsers may not simply read other sites. So our small server fetches the page you give it. We keep neither the page nor the address.
- Zegel (Belgian jobs): Everything happens in your browser. Only an online lookup of a VAT number or Peppol ID sends that number to the official database, and it says so.
- Kleurstaal (Design and colour): Everything happens in your browser. Nothing is sent.
What stays on your device
Your choice of light or dark and your reading comfort settings are kept in your browser’s local storage. That stays on your device and goes nowhere.
What a Handig Plus account keeps
Only if you sign in to Handig Plus do we keep this, and nothing more. Never anything about your files: they do not leave your device, not even with Plus.
- Your email address and the language of the site, to sign you in.
- Your customer number at Mollie, to keep your subscription running.
- The state of your subscription: the plan, until when you have Plus and whether it is cancelled.
- Your payments: the number at Mollie, the amount, the status and the date. Only Mollie sees your card or account.
- Against abuse, briefly: an encrypted counter per visitor (not your IP address itself) and, of each sign-in link, only an encrypted fingerprint.
Who helps us
For Plus we work with these processors, each only for its own task:
- Mollie (Netherlands): the payments.
- Neon: the database with the data above, in a data centre in the European Union.
- Resend (United States, under the EU standard contractual clauses): sending your sign-in email.
- Vercel (United States, under the EU standard contractual clauses): hosting the site.
Plus in the apps
When you link an app to Plus, that app keeps a short-lived proof in your browser. It holds a random account number, your plan and the expiry date, no email address. It stays on your device.
How long, and your rights
We keep your account until you ask us to delete it. As a business we must keep payments for ten years for the accounts. You can always ask what we keep about you, and have it corrected or deleted: email contact@nealvdv.be.
Questions
Who makes Handig: nealvdv, Belgium. Email privacy questions to contact@nealvdv.be. You always have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority.
